Zirconium aluminum ceramics, also known as zirconia toughened alumina ceramics, is a kind of wear-resistant ceramics composed of alumina, zirconia and rare earth oxides. Because of the addition of zirconia toughening, the toughness of zirconium aluminum ceramics is greatly improved, which can adapt to more complex working conditions. it is suitable for use in the working environment that alumina ceramics cannot meet, and is used for high impact and high wear parts.

The physical and chemical properties of zirconium aluminum ceramics are much better than those of alumina ceramics, but the cost is relatively high. The impact strength is 1.5 times-2 times that of ordinary alumina ceramics, and the bending strength is 2 times-3 times that of ordinary alumina ceramics. It can be used to make parts of various structural ceramics, and can also be used as anti-wear materials for high-impact equipment in industrial enterprises. However, because of the high cost, it is usually used in combination with alumina ceramics.

Zirconium aluminum ceramic has high hardness and strong wear resistance. Compared with alumina ceramic, it has higher impact strength and bending resistance, lower density, light weight, convenient transportation and installation, and is a kind of wear-resistant ceramic material suitable for high impact parts.
