        Similar to other types of steel, wear-resistant steel is made of iron ore sand and is made of carbon and other alloying elements. The iron ore is melted in the blast furnace, and then the bad substances that may occur in the ore are removed. During this period, alloying elements such as carbon are added. The wear-resistant steel contains a large amount of alloying elements such as carbon, such as chromium and manganese. Increasing these alloying elements can make the steel not easy to damage. Wear-resistant steel uses several types of materials to improve wear resistance. For example, carbon can improve the hardness and strength of steel, chromium and manganese are beneficial to reduce wear. Another factor in the wear resistance of steel is heat treatment. Wear resistant steel must have a microstructure that makes it high hardness, which is partly achieved by adding appropriate alloying elements. However, this is not enough to ensure that it produces appropriate microstructure. The steel must also produce a microstructure with high hardness through heating and rapid quenching. When heating the wear resistant steel, care should be taken. If it is heated to a sufficiently high temperature, it may also produce an annealing effect, thereby reducing its hardness and reducing wear resistance.

        There are several different kinds of wear-resistant steel on the market. Because strength is one of the main factors to improve wear resistance, each steel has a specific hardness value.
